Program Objectives
The objectives of Kids After School Time are as follows:
• To provide professional, quality after school care for children in grades K through 5.
• To provide enjoyable, enriching activities which reflect and fulfill the needs of the children.
• To provide a safe and supportive environment where children can grow and flourish.
Program Description KAST
cultivates a child-centered atmosphere. Children at KAST are encouraged
to use their creativity, learn to make decisions, try new activities
with children beyond their regular play circles, and learn to
participate as a non-competitive team member. Activities at KAST
include outdoor sports and games, playground and gym activities, arts
and crafts, cooking, special monthly themes and activities, homework
help and (for Adventurers) field trips. The program provides a
nutritious snack that children may help prepare and serve. Qualified
and experienced directors and supervisors along with high school and
college aged support staff with the children daily. The student to
staff ratio is approximately 8:1 for grades K-2 and 12:1 for grades
3-5. Students choose their activities for the afternoon under KAST
supervision. The Out of School Time Program Director and Assistant
Director along with the Site supervisors work with the parents to take
care of children’s needs.

KAST operates each day of the school year when school is in session.
